About the Author
Patrick J. Borchers is a Professor of Law and Associate Dean at Albany Law School of Union University. In 1993 he was named on of the nation's top teaching professors by the National Jurist. He was the co-recipient of the American Bar Association's award for administrative law scholarship in 1995. Professor Borchers is the author of several articles on administrative and constitutional law, and is the co-author of the leading case book on conflict of laws.

Not really any different from the 2nd Edition

Usually, when a new edition of a product comes out, the consumer expects there to be at least a few significant changes--especially when it comes to the dynamic nature of the law. This is not the case for this CD set. The previous edition is from 2005, and although there have been a number of significant Supreme Court and federal circuit court decisions announced since then, you wouldn't know it from listening to this third edition, released towards the end of 2008. In fact, the lecture is exactly the same as the prior version--they didn't even bother to so much as remaster it or anything else(!)--the only thing that they did was dub-in, in poorly edited fashion, a couple of sentences that really aren't necessary anyway. If you already have the 2005 version, as I did, or if you can find it cheaper, use that instead. It's actually shocking what little effort BarBri put into this 3rd edition. Again, making it clear that they only care about turning a buck. While I am grateful that these audio tapes exist, and they are generally good for reviewing the material, there simply wasn't any reason to release a newer version of this lecture in the manner that was done here, aside from squeezing every last cent out of an already existing product. In rating the tape itself, I would have given it three stars (it's neither the best or the worst tape in this product line), but for this total laziness on BarBri's part in not making any substantial changes to an already existing product.
