A good concept but it's written by a desperate person

While reading the A-list I noticed that Zoey Dean used the name Poppy more than once. What is so coincidental is that that's the same name as the publishing company. Sounds like somebody was desperate to be published by Poppy and nobody else.
The book was kinda boring, and I thought they should have made the A-list girls more diva and mean. Plus I doubt people actually live like that. If you want a real good story about rich teens try Gossip Girl, the Clique series, or The Pretty Little Liars series. I just wasn't impressed by that book, as I am usually not impressed with Zoey Dean's other books. Like her book Zoey Dean's Talent, I just wish that Zoey Dean had talent.

My 15 year old daughter who is not a reader has buzzed right through these. I read the first one. Not very deep but not terribly offensive either.

I loved reading this series

I loved reading this series. I started reading these tentatively after finding the first few books at a thrift store, but then found myself with an addiction. I was reading while relaxing, reading while on the treadmill, and reading while eating. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.
I enjoyed the complexity of the characters in these novels. Nobody was simple - even characters you wanted to hate had complexity that made you like them, at least a little. I also enjoyed that not all characters were described as exceptionally beautiful; they had an element of reality in that aspect.
My problem, and the reason for a lack of 5 star review, is how unrealistic the scenarios are and the image the book paints of the characters.yes, I get that this is a book, but should teenagers really be painted as over-sexed party animals who never get asked for ID? How are these kids driving like that? I guess the world of the rich and the famous breaks the rules. My point is, this is very risqué for a teen series.
