Jurisprudence: classical and contemporary : from natural law to postmodernism

On my journey to law school, I was privileged to have gone through this book, cover to cover, in my pre-law course, Jurisprudence Seminar. Never could I have imagined being more prepared for law school, more confident in my abilities to take on that intimidating front. If you can find a mentor or take a Jurisprudence Seminar before taking on your 1L year or if you would like to dedicate yourself to understanding what law is, and is not, purchase this book. The only thing that could improve this book would be if Hayman, Levit, and Delgado would come out with the 3rd Edition! If they are reading this.... PLEASE start writing again, the 2nd Edition is from 2002. Critical Race and Feminist Legal Theories as well as the Gay Legal Narrative have changed just a bit!

Very well written and the breadth of information covered is outstanding. Its a little pricey, but well worth the price. I bought it for a class I was supposed to be taking on jurisprudence, which I unfortunately didn't have time to take, but I kept the book and read through the material on my own. It was easy to follow if you're passionate about this subject.
