Great textbook on crim pro II

I think this is a great book for studying the adjudicatory process. It provides a thorough analysis of the issues and cases. It's exhaustive, but the cases are well-edited, so it's not overwhelming. The structure is intuitive -- literally, "bail to jail" -- though this might be typical for the subject matter. Contrary to a previous review, I think this book is pretty accessible. This is a law textbook, so I don't think "overly comprehensive" is a fair criticism.

This is just like any other law book on the market. It is designed not to help students learn but to keep them somewhat confused throughout the semester. You'll have to buy supplements to really learn the material. Buy it if your prof requires it otherwise don't. Pulling an old outline off the internet is so much more helpful than reading the case book.
