The holding of the case is [_____]

This is one of the worst edited casebooks I've come across. Of course, no one wants to read full cases but that doesn't mean we don't want to read the important parts. This casebook focuses on the academically curious aspects of cases without adequately covering the actual law as it stands. Twice now, cases have omitted the actual holding after going on for pages of discussion about overruled law.
I realize this review will have no meaning, because no one chooses their casebook, but know what you're in for and invest in supplements early.

I know this is weird, but I LOVE this casebook

Most casebooks are filled with way too much useless information - too detailed and busting with pointless rhetorical questions that no one is actually going to think about or consider. There should be a rule for textbooks - no questions, just information. This textbook, while still committing the sin of rhetorical questions, really tones the useless stuff down and actually helps you learn an otherwise pretty dry, dense topic. As a 3L, this is by far the best case book I've ever read. It's clear, to the point, and very good and explaining nuanced distinctions in the various remedial concepts. I wish all textbooks were like this. Bravo, Professor Nelson (and the rest)!

A Good Casebook

Indeed, this is one of the larger casebooks that you will carry through law school. Nevertheless, this casebook covers a great deal of relevant materials and it covers them very well. It has a very good mix of cases, statutes, rules, and of course notes. The book is very orderly and strangely one of the more enjoyable books I have had to read in law school.
