typo riddled and rambling

If I had a dime for every typo in this book, I'd have my money back and could also buy Chemerinsky's treatise--which has the advantage of having been proofread. There is a lot of good information and thoughtful analysis in this enormous book, but the multitude of typos is distracting and these obvious mistakes make me wonder about the overall quality.
The book has been through many editions and plainly needs a thorough cover-to-cover rewrite. The new material has been added on haphazardly and does not flow well with the original work. The book is unduly repetitive and contains long passages that, though perhaps cutting edge when written, have been overtaken by events. Rather than tacking more new material onto the present tome, the next edition should clean up and synthesize the whole rambling mess.,

Strongly recommended for reference

This is a great hornbook on Constitutional law. Covers every major concept. Everything I tried to look up from the casebook was in this hornbook. It's more convenient to own this than it is to check out the copy in the law library. Highly suggested to own.

Great reference

I got this for Constitutional Law, but I ended up barely touching it during that class. I have, however, ended up going back to it again and again for other things. Not a moot court brief is assembled without consulting this book. Nary a drunken legal discussion concludes without poring over this book for a clear analysis. Constitutional law comes up so much it's so nice to have this sitting on my shelf to lead me to a well-thought out analysis.
It doesn't work well as a supplement to a class, like most hornbooks do. This is staying on my bookshelf forever, though, because it's a great resource and clearly organized.
