Starred Review. PreSchool-Grade 1—New siblings will easily relate to the angst that baby Harry causes for his older brother. "Before Harry, nobody grabbed my gorilla and chewed on its nose. Yesterday, Harry did…. Before Harry, nobody but ME sat on Grandma's lap. Yesterday, Harry did." To restore order to his once peaceful household, the boy suggests a variety of solutions. "Flush Harry down the toilet!... Stick Harry in the zoo!... Mail Harry to the moon!" One morning the house is strangely quiet, and the older sibling worries that his parents have actually sent helpless Harry to outer space. Climbing in his laundry basket spaceship, he achieves a daring rescue and even lets Harry sit on his lap for the ride home. Emberley's strong visual punch lines bring the humor to life, and the older boy's expressions clearly get his feelings across. Young listeners are sure to giggle at the various predicaments that Harry's brother envisions for him. Mail Harry to the Moon will have broad appeal for those with or without a new baby in the family.—Jayne Damron, Farmington Community Library, MI

Funny!
By Proud Grandmother
We purchased 2 books, one for each of our children's families. I did have a bit of a concern as one of my grandchildren did not need any more ideas on what to do to her brand new baby sister. In our second family, our 2 grandsons are awaiting the arrival of their new baby sister. Our daughter-in-law does a hilarious job when reading aloud to her sons, changing some of the words, but exactly mimicking the cries of her own boys. They love hearing the story over and over! Everyone loves this book!

What to Do With an Annoying Younger Sidling?
By James N Simpson
Mail Harry to the Moon, tackles the age old problem of an only child losing all the attention to a new sibling, and having they daily life and possessions ruined by the new baby who doesn't realise what it's doing. The child narrator who we never learn the name of, in this adventure remembers his childhood so far as being happy in the early years, but then along came Harry. Harry gets all the attention, does things like eat his banana, spits up on him and chews the face of his toy gorilla. Harry narrates his solutions to each of these problems such as throw Harry in the trash, flush him down the toilet, stick him in the zoo and put him back inside his mother. Then one night Harry won't stop screaming, all the narrator wants to do is sleep so he screams back at his father holding Harry, Mail Harry to the Moon. The next morning the narrator wakes up and Harry is gone. Did his wish come true? Did his parents finally listen to him? If so will the life he once enjoyed return?
It's an all right story, nothing brilliant though. The pictures help bring the simple storyline to a higher level as they add more information to what is going on. I would have liked to see a bit more happening to bring the narrator to switch his opinion of wanting Harry around rather than it just seeming to happen. Still if you're a parent of an only child with another on the way it's probably worthwhile picking up. I'd also grab a copy of Mem Fox's Koala Lou which is similarly themed but also adds in the worry through the child's eyes that the parent doesn't love it as much anymore due to the new additions to the family.

Great book!
By Michele A. Austin
I read about this book in a parenting magazine and checked it out from the library. My 4-year-old son and his 3-year-old sister absolutely loved it! They laughed all through the book, making me read it over and over. Now they both can recite it, and even change the words to "mail Amelia (their baby sister) to the moooooon!" This book is so cute, we are going to buy a copy for ourselves!
